Overall, yes. I grew up very sheltered and dependent, and my dads authoritarian tendencies did some damage, but Im a functioning adult whos very happy with his life overall.

They could have been more strict, I have issues with self discipline that I think they would be easier to ward off had I had a stricter upbringing. I also have some psychological issues I can track to my childhood that I don't think are their fault

they're good people, and they sometimes tried, but both were really ambitious/dedicated to their careers that I had to spend most of my childhood, adolescence, etc. to figure stuff on my own
