@tc: it will take weeks. You can eat only soft foods for the first 1-2 weeks. It will take a month at least until you can eat normally. Avoid crunchy food for 4-5 weeks, as they can get stuck and be painful as hell. Always rinse after eating. You might get a water needle after week 1 to help flush out

How many are you getting out at once? Literally had a single wisdom tooth pulled out and could eat solids the same day

Nope, I have a really great dentist. I got all 4 of mine pulled August 13 th of this year. I double checked with my wife, she said it was day 6 that I was eating solids.

Edit: the rest of what you said was good advice though. My favorite was apple sauce and yogurt combo. I also gained weight eating a bunch of floats.

I just got mine out yesterday, I haven't eaten anything in almost 36 hours. I'm planning on having some applesauce and yogurt for breakfast.

Get used to eating cottage cheese brah. It's not so bad.

Speaking from my own experience after a 4 wisdom teeth and frontal gum extraction

Honestly. Maybe a few days. Just keep gargling that special mouthwash. Don't want a dry socket :S

Got a blue bottle of mouthwash and was advised to take it 3 times a day. A bottle of 10 painkillers I never used either.

My druggie family just ended up stealing that lol

I also got 10 painkillers. I don't anticipate using them. I've had very little pain, but the info they gave me said pain peaks 3 days after the surgery.

I had mine out 18 years ago. I was on liquids and jello, pudding, and ice cream for 5 days. Surely things have gotten better since then.

This guy is soft. Youll be able to eat normal foods within a week or two. Definitely right about flushing out your wisdom teeth holes after eating though.

Everyone is different as far as how long it takes before they are able to start eating solid food again. I had all four of mine removed at once, and the bottom two were impacted. I took a week off from work and didnt start eating solid food again until two weeks after they were removed. I also had to keep cotton swabs in the sockets for about 5 days because they continued to slowly bleed for that long. You will know when youre ready to start your regular diet again. If that is on the same day, then thats great, but dont worry if it takes longer than that. Also, be sure to irrigate the sockets as instructed.

So I have to get this done in a couple of hours. I have crazy sleep apnea to the point where I can sleep for a full 8 hours and then still I can uncontrollably doze off on the bus 30 minutes later. What if that happens while theyre working on me? I snore like mad and I might move my head or something.

I was like yeah i read on the internet if they dont come in by 35 they arent coming in. They came in at 36 -_- and thats why i dont believe what i read on the internet anymore.

This. I was eating solid (and crunchy) foods in just under a week. Maybe being risky, because if you do get a potato chip or something stuck it will really be super painful.
