Don't know if it's because of the coronavirus but I'm seeing a lot more of that mentality of "ah, so some people will die, the world is overpopulated anyway" which is a dangerous stepping stone imo.

Yeah certain AREAS are definitely too over populated, but the world in general isnt.

the stupidest thing about it is that the world isn't even overpopulated, and it likely never will be
People act completely incredulous when confronted with that fact.

That might be true, though it isn't simply a matter of transferring people from a densely populated area to a sparsely populated area. If it were that easy, all of Africa and Arabia would be stable and peaceful now.

Being glad people are dying from a virus helping overpopulation is fucked up.

I don't think there's inherently anything wrong with people having less kids though. Not that I think the world is overpopulated at the moment but species tend to blow by the tipping point without realizing it and then there's usually a mass culling event to bring it back to normal, which would mean millions of deaths. I'd just like to see growth at a more sustainable pace is all.

The world would be objectively better if it followed the rules enscribed in the Georgia Guidestones.

Ever notice how no depiction of Utopia depicts large populations?

I mean I didnt say moving people into the boonies would transform the nation.

I just believe a lot of people live in densely populated areas because they need to not necessarily because they want to. I think most people would do better with some of their own space.

Living in a big city creates that weird youre surrounded by people but alone at the same time feeling. People seem to be more empathetic in smaller communities.

This is just the way I feel on the subject.

China has negative birth rate, America is teetering on negative too. At a certain point birthrate naturally curves itself down. Especially when population gets very dense

Ignoring the insensitivity part, overpopulation has more to do with space required to sustain that population than the actual number of people. If you need X acres of A-Z for each X million people, then you need the space for that, the infrastructure for it, the people willing to work those jobs, etc, which doesn't always properly scale with the needs of the population. Plus doing all that adds to our carbon footprint and deforestation and all that.

Resources are unevenly dispersed. Population is not a problem.
