I recently played through the Collection myself. And I had played Sword of Mana when I was younger. I enjoyed Sword of Mana more than the Final Fantasy Adventure version.

I wasn't terribly impressed by what I played of Sword of Mana and I can't imagine the GB game is all that incredible, so I'd say AoM if you haven't played it.

Granted, the logical progression is GB, GBA, then Vita.
