Does a movie have to reach a certain level of seriousness and/or quality to be cinema? Is Star Wars cinema? Is Indiana Jones cinema? Is Caddyshack cinema? Is Happy Gilmore cinema? Is American Pie cinema? Is Shrek cinema? No effort is made to make the most of the visual element of the medium. I also wouldn't consider serious acclaimed dramas with bland cinematography to be cinema. --- TV sucks.
