Ive always hated using taxis, very much prefer Uber or Lyft

Taxis were way worse back before they were forced to reform somewhat due to finally having competition. Theyd usually only take cash, cabs were often smelly or dirty, and youd be lucky to have a driver that wasnt overtly rude.

Drivers would also intentionally take longer routes or drive through areas prone to traffic to increase the fare. Sometimes youd pay $15 for a ride and another time it might cost you nearly $40 to go to the same place

Generally, Lyft/Uber, except if we're in NYC. Taxis are easier to grab there.

At first in NYC, my bf insisted on using Lyft after lunch to get somewhere. I wanted to use a taxi. So I counted how many taxis passed us while waiting for our Lyft. Eighteen taxis. lol.

^ though generally I would just take the subway in NYC anyway. Just used taxis if we were in a rush and had a long way to go, or going to/from the airport with belongings, or at night.

One time while I was living in NYC I was stuck in a taxi for over an hour and the bulk of the trip was stuck on a two blocks stretch in the middle of Manhattan. Thankfully the company paid for the trip.

I rather use taxis. Every time I had to go to the airport to go home, I call a taxi. I normally try to avoid Uber/Lyft/etc... I only used Uber once. And even then, I didnt want to. I dont even think I paid for it, tbh... But yeah. I prefer Taxis. Never really had a rude one, either. Not that I remember, anyway. Theyve always been nice. I use the same company, as well...

I prefer Uber/Lyft just because of the convenience of the app and being able to pay via my credit card. I remembered one particular experience with a taxi when I called the dispatcher? and was told the driver accepts credit only to be told by the driver he does not take credit.

Maybe the dispatcher or driver was pulling my leg but being able to set my destination, find a ride, and pay via the app makes Uber/Lyft a lot more favorable for me.

Normally, I do the same. But when it comes to catching planes, I take a taxi so I dont have to pay parking... Though, if I could get a ride from a friend, thats usually better...
