How long did it take you? how did you develop your ideas? how did you get published?

I've always had this idea of writing fiction stories for kids based on physiology and medical concepts. So the characters are cells in the body like red blood cells, white blood cells, etc. Your blood vessels are streets. They fight off infections and diseases which are the bad guys. It'll be alot like osmosis jones and it'll be very accurate when it comes to the concepts. This way they'll have a good grasp on some of these difficult concepts and it'll make bio science that much easier to study. I have a few ideas for stories, I've just never sat down to sketch out the characters and write out the stories. I draw too so I'll make my own sketches.

Wrote and self-published a short story collection. Wrote my first novel, am in the final stages of editing by myself before sending it to an editor (professional) so I can hopefully self-publish it by June.

The short story collection took me about a year to write, and the novel about two years (note that I am not talking about re-writes and edits. That's a whole other kettle or fish).

Also, if you wanna write, then write. I know it sounds cliche, but the hardest part is sitting down each day and getting those first few sentences on the page. After that, for me atleast, the flood gates open and I'll get a good couple hour session in.
