To be fair, Boob Armor is absolutely stupid. Extend the breastplate a few inches to avoid compression. it's not a good idea to have Boob armor either. You want something that spreads the impact out on as much surface area as possible, boob armor concentrates the impact

It's magical space armor though and let's not pretend like there isn't real life dick armor. Art imitates life and all that jazz.

No Mandalorian is going to let someone get close enough to them with a heavy bladed object where they could actually do enough damage that the slight curve to the armor to fit their breasts will make a difference. If they did then they never would have earned their place as a Mandalorian in the first place.

Is Anita even taken seriously in the SJW community? Most SJWs I know IRL really don't like her.

I think they generally agree with her sentiments, just not how she goes about it. Atop the fact that she lost a lot of credibility when she basically admitted she wasn't that into video game culture and was just raising hell because it was relatively uncharted waters so to speak.

So yeah whenever she comments on something a lot of people remember that she's just doing it to get a rise out of people. At least, they should remember that.

Yes but they aren't going to be taking a hit on the chest with a large heavy object is my point. Back in ye olden days you fought with swords and got up close and so you were beating the shit out of each other in melee combat with swords, axes, maces, etc. That doesn't happen as much in Star Wars. Sure someone might try to hit them with a giant club, but they aren't going to tank the hit on their chest IF the armor isn't as structurally sound as the guys because of a slight curve.

I hate that grifters can delegitimize actual issues. Anita is probably a grifter, but that doesn't mean anything that gets labeled "SJW" is inherently wrong and doesn't have valid points. I think we can still discuss these things in media (sexism, representation, etc.) even if some loud people are acting in bad faith.

It's not even sexualized. It's literally just giving additional space for where some women need extra space.

But then Anita Sarkeesian is a con artist. She has nothing to do with social progress. She made a couple of videos showcasing a fun personality and a reasonable look at women's roles in science fiction and video games, but nobody paid attention. So she went back to the well and did the whole "everything is problematic" shtick because she knew it would bring her notoriety.

It's nothing new.

I totally forgot about Phasma. But see, how her armor is extended in the chest area and it has that gap in between the lower chest and upper abdomen, that's how easy it is to design female armor without boob sculpts. But as others have argued, "Star Wars"...so I guess it doesn't matter.
