After fighting fever, body aches, and sore throat... I'm now in the lost my taste phase.

I can still smell.

If you want to know how it feels to lose your taste, I'm not sure how to explain it. I mean you can feel the texture and all but there's just something off. It's like when you use mouth wash and immediately eat something like chocolate for instance and it tastes weird.

Eating bread really sucks and is the grossest thing to eat so far.

get better soon. i'm not looking forward to catching it. it's spreading badly around here. there's a huge risk of dying for me and Ms. Brown won't be able to wrangle this shit despite closing down restaurants and bars.

Hi there. I had it for two weeks too. I had a really bad cough and loss of smell/taste. I would recommend to keep eating healthy and drinking a lot water. I also drank a lot of juice. Also, keep warm and rest in bed. Definitely let your doctor know what is going on and see if they will prescribe you some medicine to deal with at least the symptoms.

I think I know what losing your taste feels like. I drank those Peace Teas so much at one point that it literally taste like I was drinking water. It was like someone was playing a trick on me. Yogurt has also done that. It's disappointing.

But I can't imagine it being for everything :/. You holding up alright mentally?

That's actually astonishing. I've been wandering for months on what it's like to lose our sense of taste, and your explanation helped me grasp a bit of what it's like.

How is eating bread the worst? Like, is it the texture or what?

It's been 5 days and I'm feeling better now, thank God.

I'm still going to the doctor to check my heart, lungs, and other organs so I can make sure I can work out safely again, but most likely, I'm just taking a month off from exercising. Then I'll see the doctor to check my organs. He already gave me some medicine.

This happened to me last year when I got sick. I've wondered if that was the virus. I got whatever I had in December.

I decided to make a pb&j sandwich as something easy and comforting. it tasted bad, almost soapy. I love them normally.
