The excursion took us to an unpopulated island to hang out. But on the way to the island we stopped at a certain part for snorkeling, and then stopped at another part which was like a shallow water area that we could walk around the water and there were star fishes all over the bottom of the sea floor.

The people who led the boat and excursion said not to take the starfish out of the water or they would die.

My fiance and I always wondered if they actually said this because they actually planted fake Starfish there just to use it as a way to sell the excursion, and that the starfish weren't actually real

Typically, if it lives in the ocean it does really badly when not in the ocean.
