My supervisor/person I reported to couldn't and still can't tell me why. Just that he was called an hour before my shift(over nights) and was told to bridge up HR and to let me go.

My bestfriend, high in the company but different organization, and myself believe it was pay related. I was just shy of 10 years with ample merit increases over the years and was above the average for salary of someone in my city with that position. They hired two new people in my department within the past two months so its likely the higher ups saw the fresh meat making a fraction of what they paid me, saw my high payroll and was like.... yeah...

Job hunt sucks, as I wore so damn many hats its hard to apply for stuff as my professional tittle is only a fraction of what I did. Plus I grew up in that position, I mean a third of my life was with that company. So I dont really have the "schooling" to back up what I was doing at my job. Just the experience.

So, what are you going to do?

Indeed, ZipRecruiter, and LinkedIn. I got a few places that have called me back. One place that seems promising but they are taking their time getting back to me. Which is weird as they have three positions they like me for. But I guess they are waiting to see what else they get filled and put me in the left over I guess?

Luckily I have a decent enough severance package so it isnt dire.... yet...

I was laid off in September, to free up funding to hire someone at the Senior level. The job hunt sucks for sure, but hopefully we will both get there soon.

My official title was a Tier 2 support engineer. But I was also the faculty manager for the data center, handled network engineering stuff as well as fraud monitoring and mitigation on top of what my title was. So yeah, lots of hats. Looking back they probably didn't pay me enough.

Sounds like this might be an opportunity for something better!

Problem is almost 10 years experience seems to mean nothing to people who want degrees or certifications. I am working on my CCNA, However I dont take stress well and haven't been able to study with the nerves of the job hunt.

Sounds rough. Remember to take time out to take care of yourself as well so the stress doesn't get overwhelming.
