There's this one movie from the late 80's where David Carradine plays a woman and raises a stolen child that David Carradine's character cuts the tongue out of. It's called Sonny Boy. David Carradine actually wrote the theme song for the movie and lyrics from the song are on his tombstone. I've never seen the movie.
