So my car insurance is 62 bucks. Full car insurance with Progressive for 62 dollars a month with a deductible of 1k. Friends are telling me that's average but I don't think so. So I requoted myself with Progressive on their websight and it's 49 bucks LMAO. About to call this agent up and see what this is about.

Wait, are you saying I'm paying too much or too low?

1K deductible is really high, why not go for a $500 one? Usually doesn't make much difference in premium and is way better. And is that for both comp and collision? $1k deductible for comprehensive (other than collision) is downright shitty.

Also what kind of liability limits are you getting at that price?

I think they are saying you are underinsured and/or live someplace with like literally nothing that could cause any accidents.

It did when I initially bought the insurance years ago.

I live in a small city. Accidents happen here for sure. I have full coverage and even say said so in my first post so I dunno where anyone could get the idea that I'm underinsured LMAO.

IMO, you're carrying significantly lower limits than you should. If you injure someone in an accident your limits are gonna dry up just from the emergency room visit and you could be on the hook for a lot of money. Worse, if you happen to injure more than one person you would probably only covered for a tiny fraction of the final costs.

If affordable you should carry at least 100k per person / 300k per accident.

"Full coverage" is a pretty meaningless term that sales reps use. From your liability limits I'd definitely say you're underinsured.

If I could go less insured than this and pay even less I would. I'm meeting the bare minimum in order to finance this car years ago. Never made any changes.

Welp I called up progressive about this and they said I can start this new policy but there's initial fees and cancelation fees for my old policy. Looks like imma have to join a new policy after this year's.

I pay $100 with USAA for liability.

I have a forgiven accident with them so I'll be on the hook to go to anyone else. I also had speeding infractions in the past but its all been over 3 years ago so I don't know if they're still being counted
