It does to me too but I wasn't really exposed to anyone who even knew someone with it initially. Now it's all over my rural area smh

It should feel scarier. ICUs are full up, which means people will die choking for air because they can't get medical treatment. People will die from other causes because there are no ICU beds available.

It should be. We were shut down when like 8000 cases a day was happening. Now its 200,000 a day and everyone is out celebrating or protesting the election with everything else back open. And I cant imagine anything being shut down with Mitch refusing any stimulus for people

It is.

In my province the numbers are almost all time bad but the government isn't willing to put people through the same restrictions as 5 months ago all over again.

Dont' forget everyone one like people with cancer that won't get time to get found or surgeries get pushed, died of covid cuz they been on treatment, and that's just cancer. And lots of sick people will get much less quality of life because delayed health care.

Your chances of dying from COVID (after catching it) are way lower now than they were in April, as doctors know a lot more about the best way to treat it. Before, it was just throw them on a ventilator and hope they don't die.

True story. I got covid twice. Once in March. Then again about 2 weeks ago. Yes, you can get it again. If I were to guess, in the immediate time after getting it, you have a window where your body fights it off pretty well but after 4-6+ months, you can easily get it again like me and my wife did.

Here are my anecdotes: ANECDOTES.

My wife only got a headache the first time, second time she felt tired. And that was it for her symptoms. I got it from her. She got it from the hospital she works at, in March they closed down basically all other units and everyone had to work covid for the first 2 months. She was exposed the first few days. All her coworkers got it. Second time (sometime late Oct), her co-worker got it and spread it to others during meal/break-time. So others got tested. My wife got it again. She gave it to me again (we sleep in the same bed obviously).

My symptoms were worse than hers, but still barely worth mentioning. First time I had muscle aches for 3 days, felt tired. I had slight chills one night. Second time, I once again had muscle aches and felt tired, not as bad as the first time but it lasted about 4-5 days. That was pretty much it.

My kids did not present any symptoms but they weren't tested, but just guessing on how extremely infectious the virus is most likely they got it but just presented no symptoms.

Like I said, basically all her co-workers got it and most likely so did there respective families. AFAIK there was not one person in the circle who had any high risk symptoms. A lot of the word of mouth/chatting etc regarding it all is "yeah, I already had covid, no big deal" or thereabouts.

Don't let anyone on CE scare you with the whole "once you get it you are impaired for life" bs. The only way that would happen is if it severely affects you where you have difficulty breathing. The common person (which means the majority of you) people who get it will have little to no symptoms like me and everyone else I know in the huge circle of hospital staff. Most likely many of you have already gotten it and presented absolutely no symptoms. Look at all the celebs who got it and passed through them quickly without incident, and as far as deaths go, we know of the fountains of wayne guy, and that broadway actor guy who I don't remember the name of who had to his leg lost. Hell even pushing 70, obese Trump got it and he was fine.

There you go, take what you will of this post. Stop being so scared of it.

I'm getting more scared too since a lot of people I know are getting it. So far they've all gotten over it without lasting issues...except for one who died.

My condolences, yeah that's scary.

My fear of losing my parents who both are 70, mom with COPD, dad with one heart attack, diabetes 2 and minor heart failure.

Also my bf who is 64 could be unlucky, despite being in pretty good health. All this is coming back.

The fact that many government officials had no issues with everyone going out and protesting and that the CDC officially said even if you have covid, feel free to go out and vote lets me know covid isn't as scary as all the media has made it out to be. Because seriously, if it really was a super dangerous death-sentence, would the CDC really tell you its ok to go out and vote if you have covid? Hell no.

Good news is mortgage rates are on the rise again lmao and all you work at homers be prepared to shed some tears and thanks to your savior Pfizer just round the corner!

Neither of those activities are likely to spread covid to any significant degree due to being outside or precautions taken at polling stations.

The numbers are pretty straightforward, likely 300K+ people have died from this and we're nowhere near done with it.

Winter sucks for hospitals normally and one I work at pretty regularly runs out of beds as it is, without covid patients taking more up. We do have nightingale hospitals set up that can be put to use, but this winter is very likely going to see a big spike in deaths and the spread is going to get worse as people get fed up and want to mingle over christmas.

There are estimates out now that we could see 1 million daily cases by the end of 2020.

Doctors knowing how to treat covid better doesn't help much if cases get to the point such that millions of people won't be able to get treated by a doctor.
