Consider a scenario where a reckless authoritarian regime with outlandish ideas is allowed to flourish and rein chaos on cherished institutions with followers that are willing to believe and post and propagate any number ludicrous ideas... even putting people in jeopardy through posting and fostering unsafe pandemic information and spreading baseless deep state conspiracy theory.

Now imagine the necessary restrictions on Free Speech through de-platforming and banning from the internet that we see today required to protect the common good, new regulations put in place to keep these obviously dangerous and brainwashed followers from propagating these lies.

Now imagine that we never get those freedoms back.

That the whole purpose of creating and allowing a figurehead to gain power is to create a crisis so heinous that we are willing to limit freedom of speech and further erode individual liberty. And that this ready solution is at its core aimed, not to protect us against this manufactured crisis, but at putting in place a means of preemptively silencing all future dissent and identifying independent voices.
