Gonna have a movie night Friday with a couple friends and we wanna watch at least one of them. Which ones are the best/worth watching in CEs opinion.

7's got better kills, better gore, is more campy than 6 but not too campy and has probably the best final fight sequence in the series.

Idk why people put 6 on a pedastal. Maybe cause it influenced the NES game? Idk

I mean one of my friends is a fan of Saw so I think more gore wouldnt be bad.

iver never heard someone say 7 has more gore than the others. In fact Im pretty sure its infamous for being the most extremely censored one. the mpaa went hog wild with their vendetta towards the series on it

people like 6 because its fast paced and funny which seems perfect for a movie night to me

They added some of the gore back in when the DVD came out but not all of it.

It's still more gorey than 6 which was basically a PG-13 movie

1 thru Jason Takes Manhattan, don't skip any of them. You can't just skip them, the story won't make any sense.

4 for pre-zombie Jason, 6 for post.

6 doesnt take it self overly seriously, which makes it fun. 4 does, but its better than the first three.

And yeah, avoid Jason Goes To Hell like the plague. It's awful.

but yeah if you are trying to entertain a crowd then you should go with 6
its basically a precursor to scream with its meta humor

Part 3 is fun if you have anaglyph 3D glasses. Agreed with Part 6 as well.

part 6 is also the only friday movie with no nudity
yet it still has one of the most explicit sex scenes in the series

Freddy vs Jason

If you like jason i dont even think hes in the first one. Come to think of it the jason we all know and love doesnt appear until part 3. He is in 2 but not as we know him.

There is a brand new box set that just dropped. Id highly recommend it. Its the box set jason fans have been waiting for for decades. They finally stopped doiboe dipping and triple dipping and gave us what we wanted. Loads of extras.

freddy vs jason is not a good movie
the freddy vs jason parts are good. but thats like 10 minutes of the movie in total.
the rest of the film is spent with the cast of victims and unfortunately FvJ has the worst cast of victims in either franchise
usually the victims are fun to watch in the early portions of the movie but no one is likable at all

I also recommend 4 and 6.

With 4 (The Final Chapter), you get the best of the "classic" and what most think of as the typical Friday the 13th movie. The cast is fun, Jason is menacing, and the kills are bloody thanks to the series bringing back special effects artist Tom Savini.

6 (Jason Lives) looks like a high budget Friday the 13th film and has a fast pace. You don't get the traditional "girls get naked" and "tons of gore", but it makes up for it in energy. It's fun with a crowd.

2 would be next in line as it's a stronger entry in the "classic" approach than 1 or 3. As much as I like 5, it's incredibly sleazy so probably not the best option.

About the gore in 7, it was all cut. With the special edition DVD, the missing footage has been an option but it's separate from the main film. It's good stuff as one would expect since the movie is directed by a special effects artist.

As for 2, it's missing bloody moments was long thought lost. Someone decided to ask the special effects artist about it and, as it turns out, he had a copy of the missing pieces on VHS (rather a 3/4 inch tape). However, it wasn't in the best condition and was stuck together as the tape became wet from sitting in his garage. It was transported across the country, carefully placed in an oven where it was heated up over several hours so the layers of tape would come apart, and then scanned. It actually worked! The cut moments of blood is an extra on the new box set although you can find it on youtube as well.

I like the last 30 minutes. The race to Crystal Lake was pretty good too.

i like 3 a lot and thats the movie where jason gets his iconic hockey mask
and 5 is really sleazy. it was made by a guy who used to make porn and it really shows. it has the most blatant nudity in the entire franchise. and it had like a quota where they had to have a death every 8 minutes so most of the run time is introducing a new character and then immediately killing them off so even the main cast of victims is really underdeveloped compared to the other films.
