If places can figure that piece out, I'm probably gonna get the vaccine ASAP. I'm tired of this fucking pandemic and I want to get back to doing shit that I used to do.

a problem for who? Did you think you were going to take the vaccine home and save it for a rainy day?

It's a problem for sites that will be administering the vaccine. Ultra cold freezers aren't super common.

And far too cold for this.

They can be kept in an ultra-low temperature freezer for up to six months, or for five days at 2-8 degrees C a type of refrigeration commonly available at hospitals, Bencker said.
The Pfizer storage units can also be refilled with ice for up to 15 days, she said.
But shots will spoil in around five days at normal refrigeration temperatures of slightly above freezing. BioNTech CEO Ugur Sahin told Reuters the companies are analyzing if they can extend that for two weeks.

-80C's are very common, but the issue is in distribution. A research scientist gets a virus shipped to them on dry ice and then transfers it to the -80C. But almost everyone accepts that there's likely some amount of degradation. Even some chance of total loss. But usually this doesn't matter for what people do.

With this, it likely does, clinically. What's likely going to be the case is that they are going to need to develop a reasonable method for QC.

Same. They've already tested this on tons of people. I'll take my chances.

I'm pretty ignorant about vaccines, has there been a vaccine that produced an unwanted side effect years later?

I would assume that any unwanted side effects would happen early on and not months or years later, but like I said I'm ignorant about this so idk
