Or states otherwise controlled by the Republicans, in light of all the controversy (or whining) over how the absentee ballots won the election for Biden?

The rules:
  • Be 65 years or older;
  • Be sick or disabled;
  • Be out of the county on election day and during the period for early voting by personal appearance; or
  • Be confined in jail, but otherwise eligible.

That's pretty similiar to tennessee (although its 60, not 65).

I only qualified for an absentee ballot because I'm asthmatic and that qualified for the being at-risk of covid exception.

Will red states try to do anything they can to prevent Democrats from voting? Of course they will.

Anyone should be allowed to vote by mail if they want to and mail in votes should start being counted a couple of weeks before election day.

Yes. Mail in should be expanded. And count them early.

That, and also their senator restricted ballot dropboxes to one per county. Even counties that have millions of residents.

I heard that got struck down.

I'd hope they don't use our laws, mail in should be universal.
Guess this is why I do early voting.

Just out of curiosity, what was the reason given by Republicans for why mail in ballots shouldn't be counted/processed early?
