Trying to get into it, and other than thinking Alexis is super gorgeous i'm not finding much reason to watch it. Does it get better? Only 5 eps in.

One of my friends talks about it non stop and tries to get me to watch it, but I haven't yet. He doesn't like Arrested Development so I'm not quite sure how good his taste is...

I liked the first two or three seasons, but once they're well integrated into the town, the point of the show is kind of lost.

Also the tail end of the series is pretty much the "David Is Gay" show. Just felt like the entire point of the series was lost.

It's not bust out loud funny but it's the pitch perfect example of a sensible-chuckle show.

And David's story line was one of the best developed romantic relationship in recent memory. Especially a comedy.

Epic show.

There is a reason why it won all the awards.

No. They treated David's relationship like a normal relationship gets treated on most sitcoms. David and Patrick are the Jim and Pam of the show.

Its close to a top 5 Canadian sitcom all time. Trailer park Boys and letterkenny are infinitely better though.

Corner gas and kims convenience are also better. Actually I guess it is top 5.

It makes me sad that Tisdale took down their "The land of rape and honey" welcome sign.

That shit inspired a ministry album title and was hilarious. Canola being named rapeseed is weird though tbf.

i lived in a different small town in saskatchewan my whole life and corner gas was really popular among all my friends in high school
i didnt watch it until many years later though
its a pretty accurate portrayal of small town life in saskatchewan

David isn't gay. Did you miss the whole "fucking Stevie" storyline or his whole wine explanation?

I actually think their relationship was treated far better than most hetero relationships including Jim and Pam.

If we factor in just comedy series too then everything gets pushed down a few slots for SCTV and Kids in the Hall.

Their relationship was one of the best parts of the show, and I agree I like the way it was handled more than Jim and Pam. That was just the only hetero tv couple I could think of off the top of my head.

there is only one problem i have with david and patrick and it happened in the final episode

when david let the guy giving him a massage finish it with a happy ending. felt like cheating. i mean i know patrick was open to the idea of a threesome a few episodes ago but patrick himself wasnt involved this sexual experience

Jim and Pam actually have some major issues if we aren't caught up in the whole "Will they or won't they" bullshit.

Leslie and Ben from Parks and Rec might be the best hetero comparison in recent years?

Although ironically enough I think Stevie and Johnny's relationship was the best one in Schitt's Creek. Their mentor/mentee dynamic is so underrated. He showed more fatherly love to her than his actual kids.

remember when chandler and monica got together in friends and then all of a sudden it was like all there storylines were about them being straight?
i wish they didnt shove the heterosexuality down our throats
i mean kids watch the show and that was horribly inappropriate
imagine parents having to explain to kids that sometimes men like women

I think it has been overhyped for sure after all the attention the final season got, but it was consistently very solid. Much better character development and writing than I expected from a premise that is just "rich people lose their money and have to move to a tiny town"

I also noticed that in the first Ep. He gets better.

I'm almost done with Season 1 and the whole show is growing on me more. So hearing that it gets better with each season is pretty encouraging.
