4k is pretty amazing when games actually try to hit it, but to me personally it's not worth the performance dip my rig takes. I can still hit great framerate on 4k, but when you're used to 120fps+ it's pretty significant

I thought this was gonna be like 480p@120fps against 4k@20fps

whichever one is more consistent. idgaf if it's 30fps or 60fps or 120 fps. I do care if it's a stable 30fps or 60fps or 120fps.

60fps dropping to 45fps in scenes/high action moments is far more distracting and annoying then a stable 30fps.

These days it's hard to imagine a situation where I have to go all the way down to 1080p for 60fps on a console. If you make the other option 1440p 60fps, I would pick that.

But naturally I would want dynamic resolution as high as possible at 60fps. Generally once it hits~1800p I can't see a difference on my 55". But I can definitely see the difference when I drop down to 1440p when playing a game at 4K.

All the way down to 1080p? I would probably go for the 4K option unless reaction times were important, like an intense action game or a shooter. If I'm playing something casual though I would go for the visual clarity.

Higher frame rate > higher resolution. Always.

Im biased though because I love competitive games. I would play a multiplayer game with graphics set to stick figures, if it gave a permitted advantage.

Gimma dat' dere' 60fps. Just the thought of playing games like nioh, devil may cry, or bayonetta in 30fps makes me want to punt a cute puppy in seething rage or something.
