pretty sure they are still asleep it's only 6 here. I haven't talked to them since like 9 last night. I imagine they will not be happy when they wake up.

I only know of one die hard rep. And she works in my office. She said thats fine. They can have it. well just keep the senate and take the house. And then take it back in 4 years.

Man the holidays this year are gonna be hilarious. Just them whining and complaining and there's nothing they can do about it.

One of my high school friends posted

Looks like Biden might win. We may be back to paying for health insurance which we dont even use. $300 a month down the drain.
Way to go America

I'm predicting lots of griping and complaining. Pretty much all of my relatives and surround community voted Trump.

... Yeah this is gonna be fun. Just like pretty much every past holiday gathering/vacation. Seriously, who drives 2 states to take a vacation/visit family and within an hour starts bitching about politics for the entire week.

I have plenty of super Republican relatives but they aren't close enough where I see them on the holidays. My dad has voted for Democrats and Republicans over the years, I know he voted for Trump the first time and this time as well but he didn't really like him or Biden at that point. I was happy to see him text me yesterday cracking up because he said his pro Trump co-workers were having meltdowns, good to know he didn't get drawn into the cult and can immediately shake it off and move on

Not hearing much from many of them, I think they were realistic enough and saw the writing on the wall by Wednesday afternoon, so were prepared.

Not all of them, though. Got a couple going nuts on the Facebook.

Content enough because they kept the Senate. Reddit doesnt represent the real world. Or at least thought they did. Havent spoken to any of them since the announcement of the run off.

My dad's taking it better than I expected, though he's still gone off about how Biden's a communist and the Green New Deal is going to destroy the industrial sector. He'll get over it.

Yeah, thats my dad. He loved Bill Clinton. He voted Trump because yet again democrats dont realize rust belters took neoliberalism as a personal attack on them.

My grandma seems to be ok. She went from posting the typical pro-Trump bs before the election and is now posting things like "no matter what happens, Jesus is still lord!" so i guess that's a decent way to cope.

all of my republican friends are just uninformed. they just want lower taxes and dont watch the news. im not going to blame them for that, it's their vote not mine and we are still just as good as friends just the same. but it shows how fascism could easily rise in this country - most people dont care at all about whats going on around them, just if it affects their bottom line.

one thing thats important though is to inform your friends. ive tried to highlight trumps fascist behavior to them. but if you just break off with anyone who is republican, we as a country will never be able to undo the damage of the gop where 70 million+ people want / ignorantly voted for this goon

My made a long post on FB yesterday about her thinking a coupe (sic) is happening. She has her profile and posts set to private so only friends can see and share.

She then made an update today saying people were telling her to make it shareable, and think that because nobody can see it or share it, that she's being "sensored"...even though that's how she's had her profile set up.

My mom texted me a couple days ago saying Joe Biden becoming president is a nightmare. I pretty much unleashed on her for following a goddamn cult leader.
