Netflix has announced that theyre teaming with Ubisoft for new scripted content, among them a live-action television series based on the video game franchise. Ubisoft Film & Televisions Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik will executive produce the series, which is the second attempt at a live-action project based on the hit video game IP. 20th Century Fox relseased a live-action film that, despite some serious star power in Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons and Brendan Gleeson, was lambasted by critics and disappointed at the box office when it released in December of 2016. Were excited to partner with Ubisoft and bring to life the rich, multilayered storytelling that Assassins Creed is beloved for, said Netfix VP of Original Series Peter Friedlander.
