My grasp on British history is tenuous at best, (hurr durr, American education am I right?). Have there been any British civil wars?

There have been six that I know of, but I'm Canadian so I might be missing some.

There's that one in the 1600s where they beheaded their king

I only know about the one where they tried to end the monarchy. At least as far as wars go. The rest of british history education was functionally just Henry the 8th and the following succession of Queen Mary and later Elizabeth and the stuff they did.

My school spent way more time on the French revolution.

The St. George's Cross (flag of England) has at times been adopted by the far right and nationalist groups, though I don't think the association is as strong as the Confederate Flag's with racism.

Yeah, it's probably the closest, but the similarity is weak at best. We don't really have one that is similar at all ultimately.

i think those are two terms for the same thing

n the twentieth century, however, Marxisthistorians introduced the use of the term "English Revolution" to describe the period of the English Civil Wars and Commonwealth

So not the same thing really.
