For Hellsing, it would be Alucard and Schrodinger

Edit: Guess I should mark it as spoilers since that's pretty much the entire underlying plot for the show

Does Dark and Steel types being introduced specifically to counter Psychic types (Even though Mewtwo could learn Submission in R/Gr/B/Y and get transferred to G/S/C and counter them. Especially Tyranitar. Oops.) and Fairy types to counter Dragon types (Even though Garchomp can learn Poison Jab. Oops.) count? I'd think that's the same principle on a larger scale.

Yeah. Exactly who I had in mind.

But he might not count since he was technically introduced in the very same issue as Thanos.

Maybe Darth Nihilus (might have spelled his name wrong) and Visas Marr? Could just be me misremembering KoToR 2's plot since it's been a long time since I played it, but IIRC she was the key to beating him.

I would say The Exile was more designed to beat Nihilus than Visas. Nihilus was way too powerful for pretty much anyone to beat, and he single handedly wiped out almost the entire Jedi order at once by absorbing their life force.

Kreia knew that the Exile would be the only one who stood a chance, since she was also a "wound" in the Force and fed off the Force of those around her, like Nihilus, which is why he exhausted himself and became vulnerable when he tried to absorb the Exile. Kreia did feed false information to Nihilus to create a confrontation between him and the Exile.

Visas did help in the battle and wounded Nihilus as well, but the Exile was more important.

Batman and Joker kind of evolved into a ying and yang or an order versus chaos relationship. This probably started with The Killing Joke in the late 80s. Before that, he was a homicidal gangster and then a trickster, and then back to a maniac in the early 70s.

Bane's claim to fame was being the guy who finally broke the Batman in the Knightfall comic book story.

Thanos is damn unbeatable but Drax is destined to be the guy to beat him in the comics. Or something like that.

Superman is near unbeatable. Doomsday was created in order to create a gimmick shock event where Superman actually dies (The Death of Superman in 1992-93)

Hmm is TC talking about the meta reasoning, where the authors only created a character in order specifically counter their other OP character? Or does he mean In Universe, where a villain creates an android or something to specifically beat a hero?

Doomsday was definitely created by the authors just to kill Superman, but his fictional character history didn't really have anything to do with him.
