I turned my previous employer a few months ago (to go back there) because my gf was about to start school up here. They held the position for me for quite a while during her period on the waiting list so I feel bad applying elsewhere. She was going to start and then decided against it because of money and by then I realized I didnt really want the salary drop going back to the old job required. I was okay with it before but less okay with it the more I thought about it. Im sure I can get references but Id feel so awkward and I dont want my old boss to feel bad because were close and he has a lot of pride.

Im not comfortable asking my current supervisor for a reference because if I dont like the offer Ill still stay here and probably not be treated as well. Especially because Im mainly looking to switch for money...going from being paid very generously to being paid very very generously. I probably should discuss the financials more exactly before providing references.

Well, thats sorted out. The offer is $25,000 more than I make now...idk. Maybe not worth moving at the moment.

Significantly more but also not really that much more for what goals Im trying to meet.
