42 y/o Former American Idol Contestant, Nikki McKibbon died following complications from a "brain aneurysm"!!

The season 1 contestant was in hospital and on life support before the decision was made to harvest her organs and she passed away at 3am

She came in 3rd in the first american idol reality show where Kelly Clarkson was crowned the winner

Her battle with drugs was highlighted in Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew in 2008 and she discussed her abuse with cocaine and alcohol on the show Sober House.

She had a 15 y/o son, Tristen Langlet who auditioned for the show in 2014 but was cut in hollywood week

Justin Guarini made the sad news of her passing on in his instagram writing "Nikki was a fiery, funny lady who could sing the hell out of a rock song with the same kind of ease and command she lovingly used to cut you with her twangy southern wit. Even in our 20s when we were on American idol together i could tell that she'd had a challenging life and that not many people had been kind to her along the way..but i'll never forget the day that her idol, Stevie Nicks, sent her flowers with a card that said "you re a gypsy that i was. Nicki was on cloud 9 and the joy and exictement that radiated from her was infectious. Rest Well, Gypsy and thank you for the laughter, merciless teasing, strength, vulnerability, love and friendship that you showed me"

That's unfortunate. Happened to a cousin of mine and now she's wheelchair bound and can't speak.

I watched some of the early seasons just for the auditions.
