While waiting for repairs to be completed on my Camaro, my insurance is paying for me to drive around in one of those 4 cylinder ecoboost Mustangs. The damn thing plays fake engine noise over the speakers.

I guess it's not totally fake. From what I read the ANC mic in the cabin picks up the faint engine noise then amplifies and enhances it over the speakers. Nobody but me hears. That's just plain silly. I'd rather have a quiet drive than hear fake engine sounds.

My car makes fake engine noises, but not through the audio system. If I had bought an older model, it would've made no noise. But regulations required the car to make noise because otherwise they were too quiet and people could be caught unaware the car was coming if they don't look. Of all the possibilities though, it had to be fake engine noises. It could've been anything! Even make DLC packs. Farm animals, warmonger battlecries, splashy noises, etc. Wasted opportunity, imo.

I was listening to a radio show that was discussing quiet engines like electric vehicles being dangerous in that they are harder for pedestrians to hear. I guess its important to drivers too if your vehicle is so silent that you don't even know its on.
