Current Events > Pikmin 3 Deluxe! I've been playing 3 Deluxe, and here are some thoughts.

It's basically like the regular version, but with a LOT more content, just as previews and reviews said. The normal stuff, but also the DLC for free, which is tons of content, different difficulty settings, some side missions, and other stuff. The original had PLENTY of content, and this has even more. Since I started playing, I mostly focused on the challenge mode, particularly the extra levels, which I've basically not played before. They're a lot of fun. The rehashes are slightly limp, although with a reasonably amount of interesting gameplay, but the other levels, with new graphics and completely new layouts, seem fascinating. The campaign, when played on Hard Mode, which is equivalent to the original's difficulty, seems almost exactly the same, but there are now patronising new hints and such. Sad. The only thing that really disturbs me is the controls. They're really the same as the first three games, with some tweaks, but for some reason there is now a one second lag between pushing the analogue stick in a certain direction, and the character actually moving. I assume this is to allow people to aim without moving better, but it's very annoying. I mean, it feels clunky. But, I suppose it takes some getting used to.

I've only been playing this afternoon and evening. To be fair, this is probably a superb game. Extremely well designed. The original was SO good, and this is probably better, although the controls do concern me. I think people who have played Pikmin 3 will probably still really enjoy this, and people who haven't played Pikmin 3 will ADORE it. People who have never played the series might have a hard time getting into it, but it would be MORE than worth it.

Control Cloud Edition is pretty good as well. This month has been great for ultimate edition ports!

I've had a look at the ingame options, and couldn't see a way. I couldn't believe it. I assume it's there for a reason, but it's REALLY messed up. Imagine a platformer where the jump button was laggy, or didn't respond at all, sometimes.

But it is still possibly the best game on Switch.
