I feel like I missed a mission or conversation where Franklin and Lamar talk about establishing a new gang.

Eh. I think Lamar was talking about branching out on their own in a conversation when you're riding with him? It's been a while, I'm not too sure. You may have missed a little bit of ultimately inconsequential stuff if you make it to your destinations too fast.

I think it's one of those things you might hear during a side activity when you hang out, because I only remember it being said once in an earlier mission

They seemed to cut out a bunch of stuff revolving around Franklin. His character trailer showed a lot of gang related stuff, but there's only a few missions that involve any of that.

I forgot to mention that the mission I did is the first one where Stretch gets out of prison and they set up a drug deal with the Ballas dude you kidnapped. Franklin talks about plans he and Lamar have which Lamar doesn't want to talk about in front of Stretch. I was just sitting there wondering wtf he was talking about until the end when Franklin talks about creating a Forum Drive gang.

I can see that. He seems extremely one note so far. All he talks about is "earning paper" and how he wants to go legitimate. But then he's also constantly breaking laws and teams up with Michael to explicitly learn how to do high-class criminal shit?
