He was sidelined in August after the poor reaction to the single player demo they released, him officially leaving now won't have much effect on the game I don't think.

Joseph Staten, who worked a ton on the story for the first 3 games (before leaving w/ Bungie to work on Destiny) is back and leading the single player campaign. I just hope they aren't too far down the rabbit hole in a shit campaign story and he can't fix it...
