This week they've been going crazy on me. I recorded the call yesterday, I pretended to be a good ol boy from Texas in my 50s.

He said, "Sir, do not disconnect the line or your social security will be suspended permanently, and the United States marshalls will be coming to your home tomorrow to serve arrest. Do not share this with any other person any other 3rd party, or you will be arrested. Sir, I am here to help you with this. Your social has been used for drug trafficking and money laundering. If you disconnect you will go to the jail."

One time I got a voicemail from a Chinese guy who sounded like he hated/was forced to scam me about my debt because he drifted off and sighed in the middle of his scripted sentences.

Like damn, even he knows he's wasting his life lmao

Well that's what most people do. Fuck with them for five seconds or just straight up call out the scam. I prefer to fuck with them as long as possible, I don't want them to hang up. I was saying stuff like:

"Well I'm not involved with any of that!"

"You should be arresting the guys using my social not me!"

"Why should I go to jail I didn't do anything!"

"Can't you just suspend it temporarily to stop them?!"

"You're saying the US marshalls have a warrant out for MY arrest?!"

"Sir I just need help, I didn't do any of this!"

I had him on the hook for 20 minutes, til he finally started asking for specific info, and I didn't have any fake info ready.

The scam calls are driving me insane. Sometimes I will just scream into the phone/tell them to fuck off. I worry a bit that I could get into legal trouble for it though.

There's a more energetic guy that plays them like fiddles until he has full access to their personal computers and deletes all of their files and systems. They're slow videos, because he has to go the extra mile and convince them that he's almost about to pay them, but so worth the freakouts on the scammers' ends.

I enjoy fucking with them. I have one about changing my energy provider going on for like 4 months now. They don't realize I gave them fake info yet.

Also I told one I only had a Macy's credit card so I could order him a bunch of clothes then he could return them for cash to settle my debts. He declined.

Once a scammer called the reception desk at work when I was covering for the girl whos usually up front. I know it was extremely unprofessional since I work at the Attorney Generals office, but I couldnt help myself. I acted like I was interested in what he was saying, but responded in the most obviously sarcastic tone. So like when he told me my identity was stolen and he needed to verify my social security number I said Oh my God, REEEEEEEALLY? Hold on, let me get my card! Then I just put him on hold and he hung up in a couple minutes lol

Jim Browning, a youtuber, was able to hack into an Indian scam call centers computers and their CCTV security system. He chronicled the whole thing in his 4 part video series on YouTube and he got a professional studio to create a documentary about it using his footage. He was able to get the CEO arrested. Interesting stuff.

my fiancee's coworker said she got a call saying that shes being audited for her taxes last year and that she has to pay up real quick.

they talked for like 5 minutes before she remember that she didn't work last year and didn't pay any taxes

the guy was like "OOPS WRONG PERSON UH BYE"

My favorites are the IRS scammers who quote statute and regulation numbers at me, assuming they even quote actual statutes.

I confess that part of my interest in tax law and why I made it a significant part of my legal education was for these exact scammers.

Nah man. Go hogwild with them. Yelling profanities over the phone is kosher, and any actual authority looking to do something against you is not going to call your phone. You'll either get mail or a personal visit.

i assume everyone here knows of the twitch streamer who solicits these kind of calls and lets these guys attempt to get his money for hours upon hours. he basically fucks with them for fun, but also some weird since of righteousness.
