TBH I read through the article expecting a new quote from the turtle. It's just a rehashing of what we've all been saying "Democrats are going to have to answer to their constituents anger if they have the power" and "this topic is being breached by very non-radical establishment democrats"

Right. Like, she might not be someone I would agree with, and I loathe the circumstances around her confirmation to the seat, but she's not even the worst Justice now to presently sit among the Supreme Court. That still goes to Brett, who is a dimwit that is clearly only there to buffer the pseudo-Conservative vote for the GOP's sake. Then again, it is perhaps too early to tell for ACB's part.

This is pretty much my line of thought right now. I want to see how she acts before I pass judgment. Unless, like I said, there is already some history of her religious beliefs greatly impacting her ability to be objective. I am honestly uninformed regarding this and need more information.

Yeah, it's just nice to see articles laying it out now and not just people on some forum.

Republicans are shredding our democratic institutions b/c they constantly get away w/ it, get rewarded for it, and can count on the spineless Democrats to never fight back.
And now even moderates are waking up that the gloves need to fucking come off.

I think the general argument is that it is not yet a "child." It's really a philosophical debate on what it means to be "alive". What constitutes human life? There are interesting arguments supporting both sides, but I think pro-lifers tend to misrepresent the argument and paint pro-choicers as evil people. "They kill babies." Pro-choicers are focused on the human rights of the woman who is clearly a live human. I see it as a gray area.

I think the term limit thing while nice in theory, isn't worth expending the political effort on.
Apparently it'd take an amendment to do that, which is fucking impossible.
And then it'd still be awkward since justices aren't appointed with any specific periodicity right now, so you could end up w/ a bunch forced out at weird times. Unless you grandfather in everyone 2020 and prior, which is even fucking stupider b/c then you're sealing in that conservative super majority while handcuffing your own court additions, and since the Dems would be increasing the court, all of them would get term limited out around the same time, possibly handing a glut of openings to Republicans down the line.

It's just...dumb and not worth it.
