My mom found out someone in their neighborhood has her dogs older sister. They met and talked on a walk cause they both have schnauzer and found out they got them from the same breeder. But the other one is from the litter before my moms dog. And he is very barky and growly at most dogs. But he liked this one and was friendly to her. It's kinda weird

I've seen the same thing happen with my parents' dog and her sister. Hadn't seen each other since being puppies and they were stoked

They can probably recognize it through their butt smell

I read that after some time even the mothers don't recognize the dogs as their children. It could be differences with breeds but I'm not sure how it would work for siblings.

Edit: I just read a few articles. It looks like it is likely that they can remember their families as long as they spent a good portion of the first 16 weeks from birth.

I believe so; but only based of a single isolated scenario.

My dog's mom is aggressive towards all other dogs; in the household she's in (dog trainers home) she is hated by all the other dogs for her additude. My dog was also hated, even though her additude was always playful (she's not aggressive in the slightest, until attacked). Based off that I think the other dogs recognize the mother scent. It's kind of a reverse, but still applies.

She never got much time with her mom because of kennels and such, and she was bathed often and the only dog the mom didnt get aggressive with was mine.
