Of interest is this map of states showing their relative percentages. The map itself says they might use different scales, but it gives a rough idea of the situation

It's pretty insane to watch. Full turnout may break records.

Damn, people are really getting out and voting in Texas. Not surprised I guess, I've seen lots of long lines at the early voting places around here.

But even though 25% of people have voted and more people continue to, we should still ram through this SC nominee

Are those votes that have been accepted? My biggest fear with mail in voting is that a lot might end up being rejected because some little detail was wrong.

Not surprising. I don't see why anyone would go to vote in person on election day unless they want corona.

I voted in person last week and the line was just as long as election day.

I went to get a Coronavirus test yesterday just to be on the safe side.

It does but it can't be trusted because the government here is a total fucking fraud and has been deliberately discarding ballots and then sending out notifications that it was rejected at such a time when correcting mistakes are impossible with the time remaining.

So does this mean that we will be a lot more likely to know the election results on election night? I've seen it said many times that it may take days to sort that out with all the mail in ballots and other covid type delays, but of this many votes have already been cast two weeks before election day then idk.....

I want the satisfaction of voting on election day. I also plan to wear an N95, surgical mask, face shield, and rubber gloves so I assume I will be ok.

That's something I wonder to. I know states like Florida count the mail in ballots as they get them because they have been doing mail in for a while. I've heard other states dont count mail in until the day of and it takes a while. There is also votes that come in later that may or may not count depending on the state.

In Texas, you can only vote by mail without an excuse if you're 65 or older. If you aren't, you either have to be:
  • Disabled
  • Out of your home county for the entirety of the early voting period
  • And a few other exceptions, I think.

Also, if you're under 65 and you successfully request a mail-in ballot with one of the exceptions available, but you mail your ballot in from the county you live in, your mail-in ballot will be rejected.

Also, Greg Abbott successfully reduced the number of drop-off locations for mail-in ballots to 1 location per county. Dallas, San Antonio (Bexar county), and Houston (Harris county) have millions of residents. Austin (Travis county) is over 1 million. Fort Worth is at about 900k.
