Pre-WW1 Japan, IIRC. It's a mystery about stolen gold, the native people on the islands, and has a crazy cast.

if you're into Berserk, then Dororo (latest series), Gungrave and Vinland Saga.

I hear that Claymore is also has a similar vibe, but I haven't seen anything beyond the first episode.

91 Days and Banana Fish are also good, IMO.

and on Netflix, I recommend: Dorohedoro, The Great Pretender, and Kengan Ashura.

Started Dorohedoro kinda fell asleep in the middle of it woke up on the last episode so kinda spoilled it for myself. Kengan is one of my favorites actually uptodate with kengan omega first time i kept up with things like that since bleach back in middle/high school. Chick in Great Pretenders is hot.
