They noticed something wrong when she started acting erratically, then would have sneezing fits that shot blood everywhere. Poor pooch. He took her in for the testing the Friday before last, and got the results first thing this morning right after he came into work. He understandably had to step outside for a while. Not sure if he'll even want to do a consult, maybe his wife will talk him into at least seeing what the options are. She isn't my pupper though, and if he really had that negative an experience with cancer treatment before I don't blame him for being extremely hesitant.
