I bought a 40" 4k Hisense from them during BF 2017 and another in 2018, both under $200 I believe.

They're 'smart' TV but their apps are really slow and the remotes work for both, but for my needs a PC monitors, they're quite adequate.

Very good deals imo.

Now in 55", damn that tempting.

That Lenovo looks to be a decent enough "toy" laptop.

I wasn't planning on buying a new TV, but at that price, I'm not so sure anymore.

At $150, you can pop a Fire Stick or something on there and still come out okay.
The big concern with these is that they're usually a purpose-built "black friday" model that's subtly crippled somehow, usually via outdated "warehouse-cleanout" innards or having a few ports missing.

I bought the same model for 229 earlier this year. It's pretty great

I'm thinking it's a typo in the ad. Should be 55S520, the 2019 5-series models were the ones that were "52#". The new 2020 models are "53#".

Bought a 55" 4k HDR TCL (55S525) last year. Been pretty happy with it so far, given what we paid. Not a TV snob though, so maybe people with more discerning tastes will say otherwise.

Our other TCL TVs from several years ago are much slower, so this was an upgrade in picture, size, and speed.

Something I'd probably get. My TV only turns on like 50% of the time. If it doesn't come on, I have to unplug and plug it back in. And even then, that doesn't always work.

I haven't gotten the chance to experience "high quality" when it comes to TVs, so I probably wouldn't be able to tell if it's good quality or not

Here's one 55" 4 series Walmart has that's $278 at a "special buy". It has the exact same input layout but the back of the TV is different.

Got my 55 4k for $250 a few years back, low end 4ks are so cheap nowadays that going to physically pick one up is not worth the $50-$100 savings you get from not buying online and having it delivered. Also Covid and crowds and not worth dying.

i got a hand me down from my uncle. tv is big but it has a problem turning on too.
probably be time soon enough to buy a new tv but i hate to replace what isn't broken (maybe when i get a ps5 in a year or two i'll go ahead and replace the TV).
