Poll of the Day > Additional game suggestions for my brothers Switch

Mum passed away last week, and my youngest brother has been pretty depressed. In an attempt to cheer him up, my sister got him a Switch. She got him the augmented reality Mario Kart game and he has access to my physical games like Pokemon if he wants to play something else, but trying to think of stuff that can be purchased for him this Christmas, preferably stuff that isn't just released so we can try to find sales. These are the ones I already thought of.

- Super Mario Odyssey - My copy is digital so can't share it. He enjoyed playing it before so is a safe purchase.
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - He loves those games and I don't own it at all. The AR one is fine, but the full game would be better.
- Super Mario Maker 2 - Needs Switch Online for getting the most of it, but he will love it. He played some of my 3DS version and had plenty of fun despite limitations.
- Pokemon: Let's Go, Eevee! - I only own the Pikachu edition, he would probably enjoy playing this one and we can trade together.
- Splatoon 2 - Will require Switch Online subscription for playing with others, but he liked the first one on WiiU.
- Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition - I got the WiiU and 3DS versions, but he likes those games where he goes around fighting hundreds of enemies.

I already own the following physical games, so while we might get one of them cheap, we have no need at this point.

Judging from the other Pokemon stuff, Pokken Tournament might be an option? The concept and designs are neat, even if the story sucks any joy out of it (I would have preferred a traditional fighter over the stuff they did).

idk, my own Switch collection is pretty tiny at this point and, even then, I haven't got around to playing half the stuff I bought.

I want that one myself, but had trouble finding a copy. Would be good for both of us.

Sorry to hear about your mom. As for games, maybe Smash Bros if he likes that sort of game... I have to check my game collection for more choices, though. There are some games that are pretty cheap on the eShop, though...

Considered it, he liked the 3DS version for a month or so, but I think he stopped playing it after that.

18, with mental problems. He likes RPGs, but not big on reading most of the time either, so I stick to giving him the easier ones suitable for younger people with reminders of what you are doing.

Racing, FPS, platfomers, RPGs, Musou style action, open world stuff and 'creative' games are generally good bets.
