reading philosophy is pointless and boring. I get sick of gaming very fast.

ideally something where you don't have to get better for it to be fun.

edit: can't really play guitar or anything because the neighbors complain and i don't have a set of headphones for the amp atm... and music is kinda boring too. everything is boring.

Aquarium keeping is fun and relaxing, it's a hobby of mine and I always suggest it. It can be pricey to start up though.

too boring, same as philosophy basically. i like the idea of it but it will never be useful for the amount of work that goes into it, and is more stressful than relaxing unless you're a specific kind of person. and the baselines enjoyment of just reading for interest is super low.

Creative writing baybeeee.

You can even do something bare minimum like build a world and not really spawn a story from it.

I have a bunch of these wood models that I build, some are small and easy, others are larger and more complex. It requires minimal sanding, a bit of gluing, and a bit of patience. They are inexpensive, and come on pre-cut boards so you just pop out the pieces. There's some examples on this page, but there are other options besides this brand.

These are more of the advanced and pricier ones, a lot of them function when they are done. I have a mars rover that has a little solar panel and it mechanically drives when you turn it on. I consider it a good, challenging alternative to Lego.

I'd like to get into wood carving eventually also, growing up my neighbor was a pro at it and entered his work into competitions and had all kinds of ribbons and awards. I won't get close to that level but i'd like to try it anyway.

i used to get very technical about ashing cigarettes into bottle caps, smoothing the ash over and making... a compacted ash bottle cap. pretended they were Dark Souls items. closest thing I got to crafting in that sense.
