ive long said that Russian trolls have gotten into gamefaqs accounts using stolen passwords and emails from other leaks and used those ancient, dead accounts to push chaos and mayhem.

i mean who the fuck doens't know who to vote for in 2020? and then asks gamefaqs.com? especially when they dont have a lot of active posts ie dont normally post here?

There's two variants of it.

variant 1 - extremely new account
since gfaqs boards, or at the very least CE, are dying, plus it being relatively simple for a banned user to come back with a new account, copypasting their account details is basically saying you think they're an alt of someone who has been banned and is back to troll under another name since it's so much more likely than an actual legitimate new user finding CE. A sort of warning to other people not to take them seriously, especially if they have an absurdly high AMP for their account age

variant 2 - extremely old account
it's been sort of a thing in the past few years for old accounts that no one has seen in forever to show up and get in stupid politics related arguments, almost always from very rightleaning positions. I think the implication here is that the accounts are being stolen/sold to political trolls

not sure I agree with either of these that much (well ok I agree a fair bit with #1) and I don't bother copypasting or even looking at anyone's userinfo myself but these are the two main reasons people do it
