What do you remember from that time period? I remember quite a lot of stuff from back then, but don't really remember who the regulars were.

I first started browsing CE in 2008 or 2009. Dipped out some years when my social life is more interesting. Since the pandemic I've leaned into CE hard.

Not so much back then, mostly lurked. As time went on I posted more and more.

Yeah this was my third account created here. I remember the boards being about as active as social media apps are now. Or at least it seemed like it was. A lot of the website moved faster than CE does now. Lots of drama. Some users dating eachother. Lotsa nudes. Account bans, hacks, account suicides. There's users who burned the church who were more infamous, there were users who had been kidnapped on smaller social boards. More than a few met untimely ends to be mourned by their own communities on private boards. As the years passed I know I moved away from message board posting. Lost access to some of my earlier accounts including my main @daveypots .

A majority of users moved on. Message Boards will probably always exist, but their hey day has come and gone.

2008-2012 where the golden years imo.

Now its been ruined by a bunch of morons coming here just to argue and to try and win debates.

I started browsing CE in January 2013 I believe. I remember it being a lot busier. And I remember a lot more drama between the users in general and between users/mods.

First came here in June 2010 for E3. First gimmick account I remember was protonotarios. I remember Everybody Edits. It was definitely much less political back then.

I came to CE in 2003 and stopped around 2010. Would check in maybe twice a year. Been back a little over a year now.

I couldn't list all the things I remember, but the feeling was great. It was a fun mood back then, even though the posters were younger and less considered. It's weird how many people are still here and sad how many we've lost.

Depression and addiction were running wild in my life and I kind of just blanked it all out so I could move on from it. I thought I took a long ass hiatus from this place(gamefaqs), but my karma doesn't support that to the extent I remember.

The name Auto_Sniper definitely rings a bell. R/HH was a pretty close-knit community in that era -- most of us were familiar with each other's names -- so the fact that your username stuck out to me probably means that is where I recognize it from.

Yeah. My memory sucks, so I probably forgot most of them, personally. Were you there when a whole bunch of high karma regular users got banned and they referred to it as the R/HH 9/11. That's where that account died lol. I only use one account at a time and it was like 3-4 years in.
