Why did Kratos think suicide would end his suffering? He already died and went to the Underworld but was still himself.

for the first one, he fought to get out of Hades (or whatever it's called) because he believed that the gods would give him peace if he completed his mission, but after they screwed him over, he thought it would be best to die and accept whatever came afterwards.
