If I come into work earlier, I get to leave earlier. Then I can be home earlier and contemplate what to do with my life before the cycle begins again.

Daydream about early retirement.

I need some better way of making money. Idk what else I really enjoy (more specifically, making money with low effort put in) and Im not in a high income cap career.

Is it hard cause theres stuff you have to do that you don't want to or is it hard because theres nothing you want to do? I feel the solution is different depending on which one.

Try making really good breakfasts every day that you prepare for in advanced so you have something to look forward to. Or just drink a ton of water before you go to bed and then you'll need to pee and that'll get you out of bed.

I need to let the chickens out of their house since we lock them up every night and I need to feed the horse and donkey.

There's nothing I want to do. I haven't had true obligations or things I *have* to do in a few months.

Set some sort of goal to work towards like getting in shape or making something that interests you (art, music, games, etc). Sometimes just mixing things up can help to. Play an online game that requires teamwork like an MMO.

I really struggle to get up every day cause of my illness. All I can really manage to do is watch youtube videos and feel miserable. I just try to find small things to look forward to or occupy my mind with like a particular scheduled youtube video or learning about cooking (even though I can only eat plain brown rice). Theres actually so many entirely different ways to live your life that most people would just never consider. I remember watching a video of a guy that was a software engineer and got bored so he sold his house, bought a boat and set it up to be as self sufficient as possible, and has lived 10 years on the ocean in his boat only stopping at ports every several months to restock.

Theres people out there living the farm life. There's other cultures. There's so many passions to really submerge yourself into. Odds are something out there would be pleasant for you and give you a reason to wake up in the morning and hopefully have you impatient to wake back up when you are tired and need to go to bed.

Place your alarm/phone on the other side of the room so you have to get out of bed to turn it off. Then, once you're up, go for a walk around the block.

I have been thinking about starting FFXIV. I do think this slump is partly due to the lack of socialization I've had since COVID began. That's probably a big part of why I've returned to this message board as well.

I appreciate the effort. I've actually worked on farms before (through volunteering with a local urban organization as well as with WWOOF), as well as lived in other cultures (most recently I lived in Sierra Leone for nearly a year). I think another part of the depression is I was supposed to move to Japan last month, but that's been postponed due to COVID. It's hard finding a passion to keep me occupied in the mean time. I've spent the last few months catching up on all the PS4 games I've missed, but I need a deeper passion aside from video games. I like to write and create a lot of stories and poems, but inspiration has been hard to find lately.

Only problem with that plan is that right now I don't need or use an alarm. :/

You can value existence while still being in a depressive slump.

It might still be a good idea. Set one anyway and place it out of your reach. That way you have to get yourself moving. Try scheduling activities that you like to do and that will establish a routine. Start small and those small changes can snowball.

Theres a lot of nice groups of people on that game. If I'm you, I start playing the game, look for an FC (a guild) and then start talking about writing stories with those new FC people which for me at least would probably give me ideas and motivation to get started at least.

For me it's game design and I always find talking about game design with people amps me up to want to actually do some work.

Also if you don't mind anime and like writing, the anime bakuman is personally the most motivating thing I've seen. Like, it just makes me want to put the work in right now. Especially in season 1 when the end of the episode blends into the ED. Always a good jumpstart for my motivation to start working on game making.

Not on PS4, AFAIK. It's free on the phone (Android and iOS). It's like $3 on Steam too. There's crossplay, so you should be able to play with us. Might be a game going right now if you check blu's topic. I won't be home for a while though!

Go play Dungeons and Dragons online, I wish I had not already played thousands of hours of that game as it would be PERFECT for dealing with the boredom right now (also it makes it hard to play any other MMO that doesn't have as action based but still tactical combat).

I may end up playing it again as they have a new expansion coming out in November, but they are just adding another race (and new areas) so no new classes to play with, and I have played all the classes multiple times through the game, so it's hard to do again *sigh*.

WISH I had not played that game so much already.
