Seasons 1-3 were some of my favorite science fiction of all time. When they went to Amazon, I was so excited to see what season 4 would be...and I didnt like it.

At the end of season 3 they opened up literally thousands of new planets and places to explore, and they spent the ENTIRE SEASON on one planet. Bobbis story didnt get interesting until the very end when she contacted Chrisjen.

The best parts of seasons 1-3 to me were the huge feel, the exploration, the world building by going to all sorts of places. I hope season 5 brings back some of that, since we have literally thousands of new planets to explore.

that being said, the belters arc in season 4 was absolutely amazing from start to finish

I enjoyed season four as much as the others. Yeah, they could've been to more places or something, but I guess they can only do what the novels allow (?).

i havent read teh books but i've heard the show follows them pretty well. i'm guessing the 4th book had that as the plotline.

i didnt mind s4 at all. not as good as 3 but i didnt mind them basically being in one location.

Season 4 largely followed the book. Not sure what you were expecting.

minor full series book spoilers:

book 4 is definitely the most contentious. I personally really like it, but a lot of people didn't. but, regardless, most will tell you that it's only going to get better from here.

It will be. Book 4 is generally considered the low point of the series, and book 5 one of the best.

the books are different enough that i'll always recommend them to show watchers. they'll feel familiar without feeling redundant.

It did indeed follow the book pretty well. With the exception of some character changing for the sake of TV. Bobbie's arc and the Drummer/Ashford arc though were created specifically for the show. The replaced an arc in the book that involved Miller's old partner Havelock, in his role as Murtry's second in command back on the corporate ship that was in orbit. Show Ashford is 100 times a better character than book Ashford.

Drummer and Ashford were hands down the best part of season 4. Ashford will definitely be missed in season 5

Agreed. The changes to Ashford's character are the best thing that show has done over the books.
