Guy's got a unique style but he's had only one good movie in the last decade and a bit.

The rest have either sucked (Elysium, Chappie) or fallen through (Halo, Alien, Robocop)

I mean he seems to like making his short films on YT so more power to him I guess.

It's not that he can't come back, dude just hates Hollywood's bullshit. I imagine Romero would have taken the same route if digial platforms were available.

I think hes a solid director, especially in regard to world building, but he seriously needs a co-writer to reign him in at this point. All three of his movies devolve into blockbuster action at a certain point; its just that it works a lot better for District 9 than the other two because its so goofy about it.

I think District 9 worked because the heavy action was contained at the end while there was still character development and plot charges.

Agree though that he started out strong and then seemed to devolve.
