Sverigedemokraterna (SD) is the third largest party in Roksdagen. They first gained seats in 2010.

SD was founded in 1988 and one of the founders was a man named Gustaf Engstrm. Engstrm moved to Germany in the early 1940s to serve a master we all know about: Adolf Hitler. Engstrm became an SS-officer but were never arrested after the fall of the Nazi regime. He remained in Germany and worked as a chemist. Several years after retiring he moved back home to Sweden. Since he never got arrested in Germany the Swedish authorities didnt know what he was until after his death.

He founds SD and dies in 1995. That same year, a young man named Jimmie kesson who is a disgruntled former member of the Conservatives, joins SD. kesson is SD:s current party leader. He claims he didnt know he joined a neo-nazi party which is all bullshit. kesson is not some stupid airhead who just joined an evil group by accident.

kesson has washed the surface of the party but the rot is right beneath the surface.

The majority who vote for SD are not neo-nazis. They are people tired of the traditional parties who dont know how else to protest. All polls done on the matter indicate that SD got more voters than actual supporters, if you understand what I mean?

But the party is such a disgusting group. One of their MPs wrote a bill a few years ago which would prevent Jews from owning media companies for example. Riksdagen had to process that bill. The vote was an overwhelming no against the bill but it doesnt matter. Free speech is one thing, but having MPs who openly hold such views and try to make them a reality? That is not okay in my eyes.

Since some users on this board love but what about X... I dont hold any love for Communism or Islamism either.

That's absolutely disgusting. How anyone could justify voting for this person after that or even the party itself.

As a counter point, the fact that the result of the vote was an overwhelming "No" means your society is in the right place. He had his say, and then everyone else said "that's nice, piss off."

Years ago, I heard that someone defended hate speech, or at least defended its allowance to exist, on the basis that it provides something for us to recoil in horror from. The idea being, you need to have your values tested, and you need to see something that is truly wrong, to know that your values are right.

So let them have their say, and we'll keep slapping them down. And if we hit a point where people like that MP are getting stuff into legislature and passed then we have a much larger problem than an angry minority of racists.

I don't have specific examples because it was quite long ago, but he painted a picture of himself just being a good boy in school and his city struggling a lot with criminal immigrants, him getting bullied by them etc. And he keeps saying, live BL mentioned in the OP, that he didn't know the party he joined was Nazis. He very much did.

I'd say the issue isn't so much that they're allowed to say such things, it's that we have literal Neo-Nazis in parliament and they get away with everything by just flat out denying what they very obviously are

I think people underestimate the hatred that Jews get in Europe. It's nothing like in North America. There's a large sense of resentment towards Jewish people from some non-jews. It's pretty eye-opening.

Really it sounds like your biggest problem is one party is so out of touch with the people that they're voting for radicals as a protest. And that can have very nasty side effects.
