Well that was easy. One 20 minute video call with a doctor. Way more helpful than the uni mental health services

I had Zoloft for a few months back in 1993, they took me off it because it was causing me to sleepwalk. Hopefully it works better for you.

My wife has been on that for a while now and it seems to help her a lot. Though she has needed to have her dosage doubled since the beginning of the year...

They're basically guessing sertraline could work and you'll have to report how you feel on a follow up call where they'll be like "well maybe we can try lexapro since the zoloft isn't working."

Rinse and repeat until you say you're okay.

Are you just starting out on it? I'm two weeks in and I think I hate it. It's messing with my sleep and my motivation and giving me hella panic attacks. I know side effects are expected but this shit feels so...heavy, if that makes sense.
This will be my first SSRI.

They say side effects are different for everyone for each medication. Hopefully if Zoloft isn't working another one can better treat you

Zoloft was bad for me. I couldn't sleep because my skin was crawling, well, it felt like worms or something were just beneath my skin.

Have either of you looked into drug-gene testing? I'm not sure how much it costs in the States but it can be helpful for narrowing down which medications might have the best response for you

Wishing all the best in any case

So I can confirm it gives me nausea for like 30 minutes to an hour very quickly after taking. I'm taking it with a motion sickness otc to see if that helps.

I always wonder the influence of telling others it fucked you up. But that could also be useful if it does influence your mind to go off the rails and your ability to convince yourself it's because the medication and you can get back to your established norm.

But that "It took me down a dark path" talk to be a seed planted for some. It me, that influences effect is as uncertain as the medication itself.

I'm on Zoloft. The first two weeks are weird. I felt very detached from any sort of negative emotion, even if I knew that it would've been reasonable for me to be upset at a situation.

That was more than a year ago, though, and it's done a world of good once things balanced out.

If you were taking St. John's Wort or 5-HTP, though, get rid of 'em, and try to abstain from any other substance that'd alter your mood, at least for a while.
