Some are historical events, but some of those have also been embellished. Some may also simply be myths. The Bible is basically just a compilation of a bunch of scrolls written at different points in time, and many details and events are vague because they're expanded upon in scrolls that were left out of the Bible.

I'm not convinced Jesus was a single person. They had a ton of prophets at the time of the NT. I would not be surprised if Jesus is an amalgamation of several people, that had their stories combined into one mythical figure

I read that critics had claimed many things in the bible were made up like for example: Belshazzar.
Then later historians find the bible was correct and the critics wrong. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belshazzar If you google it though most of all the sources are religiously biased. Guess it is not so easy to find what archaelology used to believe before the 1930s? ... Copied to Clipboard!

Ok found a secular source about Belshazzar.
This aligns with what the religiously biased sites say: https://www.britannica.com/biography/Belshazzar Belshazzar had been known only from the biblical Book of Daniel (chapters 5, 78) and from Xenophons Cyropaedia until 1854, when references to him were found in Babylonian cuneiform inscriptions. ... Like I said, a lot of the stories are based on actual events, such as using figures that did exist in actuality, but the stories were likely also embellished to make them more fantastical than they actually were. My favorite one is Abraham. Maybe one day we find evidence of him on a tablet or something. Also, it is funny how historians don't dispute the historicity of Jesus but you never find a shortage of people who do. That is, they don't think anyone liked that existed at all. ... You don't think the Old Testament is largely historically accurate? As religious texts go, yes. The Bible has more history in it than most religious texts. "Accuracy" is a difficult thing when it comes to documents that originate in prehistory. Real events might be represented but not with any accurate way, which doesn't make the telling any less valuable-- which is why a good portion of archaeology is done in libraries. I used to be a paleographer, so I dealt with this sort of thing a lot. --- "Can't wait to count out your coin!" -- Bethesda, 2018 ... Copied to Clipboard!

Oral histories change over time, while writing something down freezes it in time. Accurate, but only a relatively small portion of the Bibie originates in oral history.
