I got all the moons when it first came out (I used a guide after a while), and now Im stuck collecting coins for the costumes (I do play Luigis balloon game but Im not the biggest fan of it, Im a much more casual type of player)

But I agree with all the criticisms about it. Most of the moons do suck. And even those shrine-like rooms arent as memorable as, say, Sunshines fludd-less levels. I hate that so many had this weird cloud aesthetic that make them look so bland. In fact my favorite level was the one in the Sand Kingdom where you have to traverse rotating buildings without your hat. If every level had gorgeous design like that, Id absolutely love the game.

I dunno... I guess its a weird feeling where I did enjoy the game in its initial play through but now Im seeing all the missed potential and Im like I guess if they made a sequel it would likely be the best game ever for sure

honestly 70% of the moons could have been straight up removed and it wouldn't have affected the experience in any real negative way

My favorite Mario alongside 64.

In do love it, but yeah, a lot of the moons are definitely pointless busy work.

I love luigi's balloon world though. Kept me busy for hours post game

lol thought this was about Asscreed as well. played like 80 hours but couldn't keep playing to finish the story, just got tried of the lazy design to have everything level up with you.

I enjoyed the abundance of Moons. Then again I got all the Korok seeds in BotW, too.

I think it's great but I agree that some of the moons are basically just achievements if Leapfrog devices had achievements.

I disagree about the moons. I loved getting them all. This is basically Mario's first collectathon game and the levels and gameplay are top notch. It's easily the best 3D game in the franchise.

also is it just me or does anyone else hate hate hate the "deep woods" within the wooded kingdom? like that's a location that I am happy to never visit again in my life. i've never felt that way with any other mario world

Im addicted to the grind. At first it seems redundant that a game with constant enemy scaling has levels, but it gets fun finding new gear and messing around with builds. Story is not that great to be fair, and it is very much a fantasy RPG and not an Assassins Creed game.

Then I recently beat Galaxy, which is basically all that, for the first time, and still found myself wanting something more. So I dunno.

If youve never played Galaxy 2 then you absolutely need to play that. And also 3D World (which is coming to the switch!)
