Doom_Art 10/07/20 8:39:38 AM #1:	My current desktop which I bought back in college (2014) is on its last legs it feels like. I just dunno when would be an ideal time to get a new one. Should I do it now or just wait til Black Friday or Boxing Day or w.e. --- Not removing this until Mega Man 64 is released on the Wii Virtual Console. Master_Bass 10/07/20 8:43:50 AM #3:	It's a terrible time to buy a new GPU since everyone is scalping the new Nvidia cards and AMD is about to release their new cards, which will also probably be bought up by scalpers. Also, Nvidia's old GPUs are stupidly overpriced so I don't recommend buying one of them now either. If you have an old card you could keep using I'd just do that until the new Nvidia or AMD cards are readily available. Other than that, it's a fine time to build. You're probably seeing the GTX 1660, 1650, RTX 2060, 2070, and 2080. Realistically speaking if you wait for the 3000-series gpus to be readily available you get a significant performance increase over the top-of-the-line last-gen 2000 series for less money. Otherwise, between the lack of stock of 3xxx, amd's new cpus about to be announced (and new gpu if you don't care about 4k/60fps) your best value option is to wait for blackfriday then wait for a 3070/3080 to actually be in stock. If you do not care about 4k/60fps, then don't worry about the 3xxx series. Amd's cards rumored specs are going to be a little lower and thus might be a better option for you with nvidia stock being what it is for now. Also if you don't already have a 4k low latency monitor, that's going to add another $800-1200 to your price. Black friday is frequently a good time to get memory and hard drives. Not in any huge rush to get one so just waiting for releases to roll out and the inventory to stabilize. If I was building right now, Id look to see what AMD has in store for GPUs this year.
